Floods destroyed 40 homes and damaged 93 roads, as well as electricity, water supply and phone networks


Rabat: Floods from torrential rains killed at least 11 people in the provinces of Tata, Tiznit and Errachidia in south Morocco, authorities said in a preliminary death toll on Sunday.
At least nine others were missing after floods swamped many villages in the area, authorities added.
The floods destroyed 40 homes and damaged 93 roads, as well as electricity, water supply and phone networks.
According to media reports, the authorities have advised the drivers traveling on the highways to be careful in bad weather, while the Meteorological Department has also warned of visibility being affected due to bad weather conditions.
The Moroccan Department of Meteorology also issued an alert regarding the continuation of torrential rains in different parts of the country.
