Six killed, 8 injured in N Waziristan helicopter crash 

Waziristan: In a statement released by Mari Petroleum, it has been stated that a chartered Mi-8 helicopter of Mari Petroleum crashed in North Waziristan.

The statement said that 14 passengers including three Russian pilots were on board the helicopter. According to initial reports, six people on board the helicopter were killed and eight people were seriously injured.

According to the spokesperson of Mari Petroleum, the helicopter crashed near the oil field during the flight in North Waziristan. The helicopter accident occurred due to technical reasons.

The spokesperson of Mari Petroleum said that the accident had nothing to do with the security situation or terrorism in the area. The helicopter was providing personal transportation in Shiva Waziristan block.

The spokesperson of Mari Petroleum added that the relief operations of Pakistan Army and other organizations are going on. The injured people have been transferred to CMH Thal by helicopter.

It is also reported that a technical fault occurred in the helicopter while it was taking off. The tail rotor of the helicopter hit the ground while making an emergency landing, and an investigation into the accident has been started.
