Karachi Airport blast termed conspiracy to hurt Pak-China relations

Karachi: An important development has been made in the case of suicide bombing near Karachi Airport. The Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) preliminary report has described the blast as a conspiracy to spoil relations between Pakistan and China.

CTD submitted the initial report to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) which stated that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) was involved in the suicide blast. The terrorists detonated the blast with the help of a foreign intelligence agency hostile to the country. An unidentified terrorist detonated his car near the vehicles of the Chinese convoy.

The report stated that the suicide blast took place in front of the CAA guard room near the Outer Terminal Jinnah International Terminal in which three people died including Chinese citizens Li Jun and Sun Huazhen.

According to the report, more than 12 people including Waqar, Ilyas, Naeem, Rano Khan, Azim, Tariq, Ali, Hamza, Sabih were injured in the blast. BLA has accepted the responsibility of the suicide blast.

The CTD report said that 15 vehicles were destroyed in the blast. The case of the incident has been registered in the CTD under the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) of the airport police station. The case has been registered under the provisions including terrorism, murder, attempted murder, assault, and explosive.
