Some cases long for 18 years due to court’s remarks: CJP

Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi remarked during the hearing of the land dispute case that sometimes the cases continue for 18 years due to the sentence of the Supreme Court.

According to the details, a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi heard the land dispute case.

During the hearing, the petitioner's lawyer requested that the Supreme Court in a written order direct us to approach the relevant forum.

CJP Yahya Afridi, while remarking on the cases taking a long time, said: “I was hearing an appeal against the objections of the Registrar's Office. The lawyer requested that the Supreme Court issue a direction to approach the relevant forum”.

Justice Yahya Afridi stated that sometimes by a written sentence of the Supreme Court, cases continue for 18 years, will not write anything in the order that will start the case again in the civil court.

Justice Shahid Bilal told the lawyer to the petitioner that he could approach the relevant forum even without writing of the Supreme Court.

Later, the Supreme Court rejected the plea of ​​the petitioner to issue a direction to the concerned forum
