Islamabad issues Traffic plan for public amid OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting
Representatives from the United States and Taliban-led interim Afghanistan government would attend the extraordinary session of the OIC

Islamabad: Traffic Police in Islamabad has issued a traffic advisory for three days from 18 to 20 December to divert vehicles to separate routes on the occasion of an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) moot in Islamabad.
Islamabad Traffic Police has issued the advisory in a Twitter post with a map detailing the closed roads. The traffic police said that entry and exit to red zone will remain close from certain routes while Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue via Embassy Road could be used for traffic.
For the diplomatic enclave, the plan highlighted that 3rd road could be used to enter it from gates 5 and 6.

Being hosted by Pakistan, the 17th Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 19.
OIC's Extraordinary Session of Foreign Ministers will be held in Islamabad for three days from December 17–19.
Foreign delegations from the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries continue to arrive in Pakistan to attend OIC's Foreign Ministers conference in Islamabad.
All the arrangements to welcome the foreign delegates have been finalized. Special teams to receive the OIC foreign ministers and other dignitaries have also been formed. The Constitution Avenue and all the prominent places in the twin cities along the route of foreign dignitaries have been decorated.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited Islamabad Airport to inspect arrangements for reception of the incoming delegates attending 17th Extraordinary Session of the OIC Councel of FMs.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the convener of the OIC Conference.
On Friday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed announced that mobile services will not be suspended during the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, which will be held in Islamabad for three days from December 17–19
Meanwhile, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat tweeted shortly after Rasheed presser that the federal capital will also enjoy a three-day weekend from Saturday to Monday, during the OIC Moot.
Coming Monday and Saturday will be local holiday in Islamabad for schools and private offices. Hiking trails in margalla will stay closed. Metro stations (Pak sect to Shaheed e milat sect) will stay closed till Monday.

Earlier on Thursday, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha on Thursday arrived here to attend the 17th Extraordinary Meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, being held here on December 19, to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
