'Army has nothing to do with politics', DG ISPR tells media
Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar warns against speculations in this regard
Rawalpindi: Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar Thursday again reiterated the stance that the army had nothing to do with politics.
He was addressing a press conference on the Indian projectile’s violation of Pakistan’s airspace.
Responding to a question regarding current political situation in the country, the DG ISPR said he had already made it clear that the army had nothing to do with the politics.
He also warned against such speculations in this regard, saying it was better not to unnecessarily discuss the issue.
To another question regarding different claims of interference of the state institution in politics, he said it was better to ask them the question rather than mere speculating.
He said had there any truth in such matters there would be some kind of proof but still, nothing could be produced yet.
He said it was better to question those who pointed their fingers [towards the army].
