As a senate chairman I can approach anyone including Bilawal Bhutto for vote: Sanjrani
Islamabad: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has said that as a head of upper house of parliament, he can approach anyone for vote including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

While talking to media alongside Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser in Islamabad, Sadiq Sanjrani, who will once again contest the election for chairmanship of the upper house of parliament as the ruling party's candidate, said that he doesn’t mind approaching even his contender Yousaf Raza Gillani for vote.
“It doesn’t matter whoever wins the election of Chairman of Senate, the victory should be of democracy. Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the parliament and ensure the supremacy of law and constitution,” he said.
Chairman Senate further stated that freedom of expression and free media are the basic components of democracy.
“We will facilitate media in every manner,” he added.
Speaking on occasion, referring to the clash between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers, Asad Qaiser said that the incident will be investigated thoroughly.
“A committee has been formed to investigate the incident,” he said.
Addressing the allegations of fraudulency in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Vote of Confidence, he vowed to step down if any discrepancy in vote-casting is found.
“If you include mine and Faisal Vawda’s votes, PM secured a total of 180 votes,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has named Yousuf Raza Gilani as a joint candidate for the position of senate chairmanship.
On March 03, in the most highlighted and awaited contest of Senate elections, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) joint candidate Yousuf Raza Gillani thumped PTI candidate Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. Gillani registered his victory from an Islamabad’s General seat.
The victory of opposition came as major blow for PTI, after which Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to take a vote of confidence from Parliament.
