Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that charity stealing elements have taken away the right of free medicine and free medical treatment from cancer patients.

Taking to twitter, Maryam Nawaz said that provision of free medicine to cancer patients has been stopped by a government which itself has become a cancer for Pakistan.

On the other hand at Lahore’s Kalma Chowk, blood cancer patients protested against the decision to stop free medication and stopped the service metro bus in the process.
The protestors said that the Punjab government had entered into an agreement with an international company to provide them with free medicine.
“We have been using free medicine for 10 years. Every year, for ten months the company used to pay for the medicine and for the remaining one month, it was up to the government to provide free medication, the protesters said adding that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has stopped medicine for the third time in a year.
The price of medicine for a month is Rs. 3.5 million.
The demonstrators have vowed to protest until they are provided with free medicine.
