IHC decides to live-stream judicial proceedings in historic move
IHC has decided to stream the judicial proceedings of the high court live from now on.
Islamabad: In an extraordinary move, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday decided to live-stream judicial proceedings on online channel, GNN reported.
According to details, the IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah permitted live streaming of the court proceedings in what is being dubbed as unusual move in Pakistan’s judicial history.
Starting today, the proceedings of different cases will be live-streamed on a limited scale, as a trial, to see what response comes.
In compliance with the IHC CJ’s order, the IT department of the Islamabad High Court has installed a system in the courtroom for live broadcasting of court hearings.
The court has also sought suggestions from the reporters in this regard.
Reports quoting sources said, if the trial turns out to be successful, then everyone will be able to watch the live hearing of the cases through a court website.
