PM Shahbaz Sharif shows concern regarding expected “above average rainfall”
Pre-monsoon rains are likely to start in the second week of June


Islamabad: Showing his concern about the expected above-average rainfall, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the concerned departments and ministries to remain vigilant.
PM Shahbaz Sharif directed to make a full-fledged plan in collaborating with the provinces considering the prediction of the meteorological department regarding heavy rainfall.
He also ordered the on-time measurements for the protection of crops and animals in the agrarian areas and the supply of necessary equipment.
Residents of the expected affected areas should be pre-warned and must be shifted to safe areas, he added
He also directed that all the steps regarding proper drainage, dredging of nullahs and water channels, and disinfection must be taken.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department, in its statement, expected that the country may face an above-average rainfall during the upcoming moon soon season.
The statement further tells that pre-monsoon rains are likely to start in the second week of June.
