Karachi: Former skipper of Pakistan’s national cricket team, Wasim Akram has raised questions on the cricket committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

While talking to media, the 54-year old former cricketer said that what sort of a committee is it that meets only once a year.
Referring to Pakistan’s upcoming the tour to South Africa, Akram said that it will be a crucial tour for national team as wickets and pitch there will be very different.
“Pakistan may face difficulties during South Africa tour,” he warned.
Commenting over the selection process, the former fast-bowler said that selection of squad is always made an issue in Pakistan for no reason.
“Sharjeel Khan has been in the biosecure bubble for a long time. He has promised to work on his fitness and will have to bring his fitness up to world standards,” he said.
He further said that neither he is a part of cricket board nor the team and can merely give suggestions.
“I do not interfere in anyone's work. I do not have enough time to call chief selector for team selection. I don’t know who these people spreading false news,” he said.
He further said that Muhammad Wasim has been made chief selector by PCB and his job is to select the national squad.
“Differences between captain and chief selector are common,” he added.
