Covid-19: NCOC decides to increase lockdown restrictions amid spike in infections
Islamabad: In view of rising coronavirus cases across country, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to spread of virus.

The decision has been announced by Federal Minister for planning Asad Umar on his twitter handler.
He wrote that provincial & ICT administrations were also directed to tighten implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and a crackdown on violations that are taking place.
“In the NCOC meeting this morning we decided to increase restrictions of activities contributing to sharp increase in covid positivity. The provincial & ICT administration were also directed to tighten implementation of sop's and crackdown on violations which are taking place,” the federal minister write on twitter.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus, which is deadlier and contagious than the previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,669 cases of coronavirus were reported while 20 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 13,863.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 630,471.
As many as 583,538 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,423 critical cases.
