The deputy speaker, citing Article 63A of the Constitution, rejected ten votes cast by the PML-Q members.

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has decided to move Supreme Court (SC) against Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker, Dost Muhammad Mazari’s ruling regarding Chief Minister (CM) election.
According to details, leaders of the PTI and the PML-Q reached Supreme Court (SC) registry Lahore to submit the petition—challenging Dost Mazari’s ruling on the Punjab Chief Minister's election about rejecting PML-Q votes.
Soon after the contentious ruling was announced, a joint parliamentary meeting of PML-Q and PTI was held, wherein it was decided to file a writ petition against Dost Mazari’s decision in SC.
Pervez Elahi’s counsel Aamir Saeed Rawn filed the petition in the SC in which Hamza Shahbaz, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari, and the chief secretary have been made parties.
The petition was received by the Supreme Court’s deputy registrar Ijaz Goraya.
The deputy speaker, citing Article 63A of the Constitution, rejected ten votes cast by the PML-Q members. Following this, Hamza received 179 votes, while Elahi managed to bag 176 votes.
The Supreme Court’s (SC) Lahore Registry was opened at midnight after the election of the Punjab Chief Minister.
In the meantime, PTI Chairman Imran Khan urged the people to come out on the streets to protest against the deputy speaker’s ruling.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan constituted a bench to hear PML-Q leader Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi’s plea against the rejection of the party's votes in the Punjab Assembly (PA) Session.
Headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, the three-member bench comprises Justice Aijaz Ul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar, who will hear the case on Saturday.
