Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Thursday approved an increase of Rs39.89 per mmbtu in gas price for Sindh and Balochistan region.

The authority announced the decision on an application submitted by the Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Limited (SSGPL).
With the latest surge, the new price stands at Rs778.59/mmbtu. The new price will come into affect once the notification is issued.
Ogra is likely to announce the revised prices of the gas for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
Last week, the federal government announced to increase the electricity price by Rs1.98, putting an additional burden of more than Rs200 billion on public.
