Scale of justice not balanced, says Maryam Nawaz

Lahore:  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz said that the scale of the justice is not balanced yet as the decision are made on the suggestions of the wives and other family members.

She stated that she appeared before the courts for 100 times in fake cases while her father Nawaz Sharif also surrendered before the courts even in  such fake cases.

“The state came under attack from Zaman Park,” alleged Maryam, questioning that where the law and the constitution was.

She expressed these words while talking to PML-N lawyers wing on Sunday.

The PML-N leader said that she knew many facts about the some people at the Lahore High Court and if she made revelations there would be crisis.

Maryam also expressed gratitude for the lawyers who used to be there in the courts to support her and her father during their appearances in the cases, and for their legal aid to the PML-N leaders and workers. She appreciated Rana Sanaullah for making lawyers’ organization.

“We will empower you so that you could empower the party—and we will keep this connection alive,” said the PML-N leader.

But she said that she wanted to meet the lawyers on the basis of the first priority.

“The way you backed democracy and stood by Nawaz Sharif and the way you stood for the judicial movement. But it is the when Pakistan needs you due t the prevailing crises, so I called this meeting to discuss many things with you,” she said.

She stated that she used to say that the scale of the justice system is not balanced.

“In yesterday’s rally, they said that the elections have been delayed till Oct –the month when the present chief justice will retire and the new chief justice will take oath. Their [PTI] politics revolve around the appointments,” she claimed.

Maryam said that former army chief said that he [Imran Khan] was the most dangerous person, adding that he was now attacking the courts along with the mobs.

“Such attacks on the courts with the mob are unprecedented,” said the PML-N, adding that but, on the other hand, Nawaz Sharif was disqualified over the charges of taking salary from his own son.

She stated that General Bajwa said that the decisions were made on the basis of the suggestions of the wives and the children.

“That person [Imrna Khan] does not appear before the courts and when he appears before the courts he secures bails in dozens of cases,” said Maryam, adding that Tyrian and Thoshakhana were the genuine cases.

“He is the person who stole the Thoshakhana gifts,” said the PML-N, adding that they [Imran Khan and his wife] sold out the gifts in Dubai.

Later, she said, they submitted fake declaration before the courts.

The Foreign funding case’ verdict, she stated, was another case which he did not get it opened for the last seven years along with the help of the establishment and with his own government.

“No courts could punish him [Imran Khan]. I appeared before the courts in more than 100 fake cases. Nawaz Sharif appeared before the courts in such fake cases,” said the PML-N, adding that he was not appearing before the courts.

When the police went to Zaman Park to implement court orders they were attacked but no action was taken so far.

“Who is protecting him so far?,” she asked.

Maryam said that they would contest elections. But, she said, the PTI was now crying and saying that it was violation of the Constitution when the date for the general elections was delayed till Oct 8.

“When the PTI dissolved the assemblies was it not the violation of the Constitution,” she asked, pointing out that why the law did not take its course when the PTI and its head violated the Constitution and dissolved the assemblies.

Justice Athar Minallah raised question over dissolution of the assemblies but he was separated from the bench, she said, alleging that “there is facilitation. Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi wrote a note and a suo motu notice was taken,”.

“Contempt of court is committed when the corrupt judges are protected. It is contempt when the courts do not deliver justice,” she lashed out at the judiciary.

“Any person who raises voice against this is accused of contempt,” she added.

Calling Imran Khan “sick man”, Maryam said that what who would guarantee this that Imran Khan would accept the victory of PML-N in Punjab elections.  She stated that how the elections could be acceptable to Imran Khan if the PML-N naturally won in Punjab, because he had accused Mohsin Naqvi of different charges.

She asked the lawyers to support the PML-N and the country by raising thier voice.

"Name and shame if there is any kind of faciliation," she asked the lawyers.
