The COAS says the army will continue its endeavors of peace and stability and would not allow any spoilers to disrupt the process.


Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday visited the Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he vowed to bring all those responsible for vandalism on the ‘Black Day’ of May 9 to justice.
During his visit, Gen Munir addressed the officers of the Corps and emphasised the evolving threats to national security. He also highlighted the challenges of information warfare and efforts to create misperceptions. He pledged that the armed forces would not tolerate any further attempts to violate the sanctity and security of its installations or vandalism.
The COAS further stated that the army would continue its endeavors of peace and stability and would not allow any spoilers to disrupt the process.
The army chief was also briefed on the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. He appreciated the professional competence, performance, and achievements of law enforcement agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Gen Munir stressed that a concerted effort was being made by inimical elements to target the armed forces and pledged to foil any such nefarious attempts with the support of the people of Pakistan.
Upon his arrival, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.
