FIRs filed against PTI workers, former lawmakers in Swat
Former lawmakers of PTI along with around 250 party workers have had FIRs filed against them in Swat.
Swat: In a recent development, First Information Reports (FIRs) have been lodged against former lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and approximately 250 other party workers in Swat.
FIRs, registered at the Mingora and Khwazakhela police stations, include Former Member of National Assembly MNA Salimur Rehman, Former Member of the Provincial Assembly MPA Fazal Hakim Khan, and Mian Sharafat Ali, Mingora city mayor Shahid Ali Khan, and around 250 PTI workers.
They have been charged under various sections, including 188, 341, 147, 149, 500, and 501, for allegedly inciting people against the government and state institutions during a rally held at Nishat Chowk in Mingora.
In a separate incident, Zahidullah, a Basic Pay Scales BPS-17 officer at Swat engineering university and a PTI activist has been arrested by Matta police on sedition and terrorism charges.
FIR against him includes sections 153A, 500, 504, 505, 506, and 57 Anti Terrorist Act accusing him of inciting people against the government and state institutions using a loudspeaker.
Reports revealed that Zahidullah was recruited by the PTI government but never performed his duties.
Instead, he actively participated in PTI meetings and delivered speeches in Lahore's Zaman Park.
