Terrorist incidents increased in KPK
Increase in terrorist incidents during the first four months of the year in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessing 158 arrested, including 81 terrorists.
KPK: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents during the first four months of the current year, with a total of 309 cases of terrorism reported.
Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released a report on the terrorist incidents that occurred during the first four months of the year, highlighting that most of the incidents were recorded in the Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Peshawar regions.
In January, 49 terrorist incidents were reported, compared to 33 incidents during the same month last year.
February saw 50 recorded incidents of terrorism, surpassing the 24 incidents reported in the same month last year.
In March, there were 34 terrorist incidents, similar to the previous year, while April witnessed 42 incidents of terrorism.
Under the registered cases, the CTD has arrested 124 individuals.
During the four-month period, a total of 711 operations were conducted by intelligence-based forces, resulting in the arrest of 158 individuals, including 81 terrorists.
Several commanders of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), involved in terrorist attacks, were also killed in encounters.
These encounters included 71 dangerous terrorists, whose heads carried bounties worth millions of rupees.
The CTD recovered 150 hand grenades, 47 kilograms of explosives, and hundreds of cartridges, including a suicide jacket, during the operations.
