Pakistani skipper Babar Azam has gone past Virat Kohli to become the fastest to complete 2,000 runs in the shortest format while playing against Zimbabwe in the T20I series at Harare on Sunday.
As per details, Babar Azam achieved the milestone of 2000 T20I in his 52nd inning (54 matches) while Indian skipper Virat Kholi took 60 matches (56 innings) to complete this landmark.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) turned to its official twitter handle and wrote,” Babar Azam becomes the fastest batsman to 2000 T20I runs Fire”.
“He has taken only 52 innings to achieve the feat,” it added.

It is pertinent to mention here that skipper of Pakistan’s men cricket team, Babar Azam dethroned Indian captain Virat Kohli to become the top rated One Day International (ODI) batsman.
Overall, Pakistani skipper is the 11th batsman to complete 2000 runs in T20I cricket and in his career, Babar has a century and 17 fifties.
