Early on Saturday, officials said the daw overflowed in central North Chungcheong province causing the water to enter the population and residential areas.

South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo requested the military to assist with rescue missions.

According to the International media, seven people were killed by the land sliding, currently, three are missing.

Several are reported injured, while the number of casualties is expected to rise.

The rescue authorities have confirmed that more than 1500 people have been shifted to safe places.

Reportedly, seven thousand people were instructed to evacuate and all transportation services have been stopped due to the threat of urban flooding.
