Pakistan reports 142 more deaths amid Covid-19 surge
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported 142 deaths in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,487 cases of coronavirus were reported while 142 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,329.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 804,939.
As many as 699,816 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,075 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 293,468 in the province with 8,097 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 279,272 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,605.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 114,661 in the province with 3,156 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 21,803 confirmed cases while 232 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 16,659 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 464. On the other hand, there are 5,272 cases in GB with 105 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 73,804 cases in the capital city while 670 people have lost their lives.
