Indian woman visits Pakistan's Upper Dir to meet Facebook friend
Anju is currently on a one-month visit visa and intends to spend some days with Nasrullah.
Peshawar: An Indian woman named Anju, hailing from Uttar Pradesh (UP), on Sunday arrived in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), to meet her Facebook friend, Nasrullah.
The 29-year-old Nasrullah, associated with the medical field, befriended Anju a few months ago on the social media platform.
Anju is currently on a one-month visit visa and intends to spend some days with Nasrullah. The police clarified that she did not come to Pakistan to marry him and is currently residing at his home.
Cross-border love stories are not uncommon, and previously, a young boy from India married a girl in Sukkur, Pakistan, after connecting with her on social media. Similarly, an Indian girl tied the knot with a Pakistani boy from Mawlapur after meeting online.
Cross-border marriages, like that of Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, have also gained attention in the past.
