Woman rescued after 90 minutes of crocodile attack
The crocodile tightly gripped Faleera's right arm, leg, and lower thigh, pulling her into the water.
Indonesia: A woman from Indonesia managed to survive after being attacked by a crocodile for an astonishing 90 minutes.
Faleera D. Jess, a 38-year-old resident of West Kalimantan province, was fetching water from a partially-covered stream when she was suddenly ambushed by the lurking crocodile.
The crocodile clamped its jaws around Faleera's right arm, leg, and lower thigh and dragged her into the water.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Faleera bravely fought back against the crocodile and called for help.
Her co-workers, who were tending to the nearby oil palm plantation, eventually noticed her absence and went searching for her.
They found her locked in a fierce struggle with the crocodile near the stream.
Risking their own safety, Faleera's colleagues managed to distract the crocodile and pull her out of the water.
They immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses at the scene reported that the crocodile held Faleera in its powerful grip for an astonishing 90 minutes, attempting multiple times to submerge her in the water.
Luckily, the water level was not deep enough, and more people arrived to help.
Doctors revealed that Faleera suffered deep wounds on her right arm, leg, and lower thigh, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
Her survival against the odds has been nothing short of miraculous.
