PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill tabled in Senate
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, new amendments have defined and separated misinformation and disinformation.
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday said that PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill has been tabled in the Senate after the National Assembly passed it.
Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, the minister asked the Senate chairman to forward the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill to the relevant Standing Committee for further consideration and recommendations by the Senators.
The minister stated that the Bill was written after 14 months of consultations and includes the opinions and inputs of all media organizations as well as the Parliamentary Reporters Association.
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, new amendments have defined and separated misinformation and disinformation.
