Complete lockdown to be imposed in Lahore on Sarurdays and Sundays as Covid cases rise
Lahore: The provincial capital will undergo a complete lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays starting tomorrow as Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the city.

According to details, the announcement was made by the Commissioner Lahore Division Muhammad Usman.
All markets and businesses in the city will remain closed, while medical stores, petrol pumps and vaccination centers will remain open during the weekends.
“Help us in making these tough decisions a success in challenging times,” the commissioner added.

On the other hand, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) hospitals in Lahore are running out of space as hospitals are dealing with influx of patients.
The data has revealed an alarming situation as out of 84 ventilators at Mayo Hospital, 80 are currently occupied. Moreover, 32 ventilators allocated for the Covid-19 critical patients at the Services Hospital are also occupied.
Pakistan has reported 131 deaths in one day as the third wave of the pandemic continued to rage across the country.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,112 cases of coronavirus were reported while 131 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,811.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 820,823.
As many as 711,465 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,360 critical cases.
