He was disqualified under Article 63-1H of the Constitution.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rejected the disqualification of Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and announced to challenge the decision of Election Commission decision in Supreme Court.
According to details, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday declared PTI Chief Imran Khan ineligible for five years issuing the notification.
Election Commission has de-notified Chairman PTI from NA 45 Kuram. In the notification issued, it was said that Chairman PTI was sentenced to 03 years in the Tosha Khana case and fined Rs100,000.
Therefore, he was disqualified under Article 63-1H of the Constitution.
According to the notification of ECP, Imran Khan was found guilty of corrupt practices under Section 167 of the Election Act.
Responding to PTI Chairman's disqualification, the spokesperson of the party stated that Election Commission's notification is an indication of unnatural and illegal interference in politics.
According to the spokesperson of PTI, the bias of Election Commission regarding PTI and Chairman PTI is not hidden. People also reject the attempt to implement the minus one formula.
The spokesman further said: “Election Commission is the key facilitator in the plan to postpone elections and undermine democracy, we demand that the Supreme Judicial Council hear the pending reference against Chief Election Commissioner”.
It is pertinent to note that earlier on August 5, Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar sentenced Imran Khan to three years in prison and a fine of Rs100,000 in Tosha Khana case.
After being sentenced by the court, the police arrested Imran Khan from his residence in Lahore and transferred him to Attock Jail where he is serving his sentence.
