Pakistani authorities should investigate the incident completely, said US Spokesperson.


Washington DC: US has expressed concern over the attack on the church and Christian community in Jaranwala, Pakistan.
According to details, Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, said in a press conference that Pakistan is deeply concerned about the targeting of churches.
“US speaks of peaceful freedom of speech and the right of freedom of religion and belief for everyone,” said Vedant. He added that Pakistani authorities should investigate the incident completely, all parties involved in the violence should remain peaceful.
It should be noted that the enraged people protesting against the alleged incident of blasphemy in Jaranwala city of Faisalabad district of Punjab burnt four churches, dozens of houses, vehicles and belongings of the Christian community in Christian Colony and Isa Nagri.
According to the spokesman of Punjab government, an attempt was made to attack the minority population on the basis of desecration of Holy Quran, which was foiled by the police. The peace committee was mobilized and the police arrested more than 100 people.
The Punjab government also ordered a high-level inquiry into the Jaranwala incident.
