Asim Hafeez has been directed to take charge in Rawalpindi before August 19.


Lahore: Civil Judge Asim Hafeez, husband of the accused in the case of torturing young maid Rizwana, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
According to details, Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) has appointed Civil Judge Asim Hafeez as OSD in Rawalpindi. The notification of his appointed has also been issued by Registrar Lahore High Court.
Asim Hafeez has been directed to take charge in Rawalpindi before August 19.
It should be noted that the investigation of the torture case against young employee Rizwana is underway, in which the judge Asim and his wife accused Somia Asim have been summoned by Joint Investigation Team (JIT), while his wife is in Adiala jail on judicial remand.
Maid violence case
The violence case of Rizwana, a 14-year-old girl being treated at Lahore General Hospital, came to light on July 24. The girl's mother accused the judge's wife of violence. There were marks of torture on the body of girl, both the arms were fractured and she was suffering from severe fear.
According to Professor Jodat Saleem, head of the medical board established for the treatment of Rizwana, the girl's condition is improving and her infection has also decreased.
Judge acknowledges wife's mental problems
In an interview, Civil Judge Asim Hafeez admitted his wife's psychological problems by saying that she must have been tough, however Somia told him that she had never beaten her. The girls’ condition was not like what was shown while leaving their house.
