Lahore: Renowned Pakistan singer Aima Baig will perform at the glittering opening ceremony of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday.

The PCB made a significant news when he disclosed that renowned singer Aima Baig will perform at the opening ceremony of the event, which Pakistan is going to host for the first time in 15 years.

According to the PCB, Aima will be accompanied by Nepal’s Trishala Gurung.

The PCB stated, "Witness the Super 11 Asia Cup 2023 curtain-raiser live on August 30 at the Multan Cricket Stadium."

The opening match between Pakistan and Nepal will be followed by live fireworks, performances by Aima Baig and Trishala Gurung from Nepal, the notification noted.

The opening match of the 2018 Asia Cup will take place on August 30 in Multan between host Pakistan and Nepal.

There will be four games, including a Super 4s match, played in Pakistan.

The Super 4s final and the remainder of the group stage games, including the eagerly awaited matchup between India and Pakistan on September 2, will be contested in Colombo.

If both teams succeed in qualifying for the Super 4s, the bitter rivals Pakistan and India will square off once more on September 10 in Colombo.

If both archrivals, in a first, qualify for the final at the same time, the Asia Cup calendar has the potential to treat cricket fans to a maximum of three Pakistan-India encounters in a single tournament.

Six teams will compete in the upcoming Asia Cup, divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4s. The event will be held across the continent from August 31 to September 17.

Hosts Arc-rivals India and Nepal are grouped with Pakistan, while co-hosts and defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in the other group.

The ODI format will be used at the Asia Cup 2023, which will give the Asian countries a chance to improve their preparations for the future ICC Men's World Cup.
