Transgenders call inflation labeled as economic terrorism and call for accountability.


Islamabad: The severe shocks of electricity bills have forced Khawaja Sira (transgender) individuals to take to the streets in protest.
During the demonstrations in Rawalpindi, they labeled inflation as economic terrorism and demanded action against those responsible.
Khawaja Sira community in Rawalpindi, known for their resilience, gathered outside the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) office at Mareer Chowk to register their protest against exorbitant electricity bills.
They stated that imposing heavy taxes on the impoverished population amounts to economic terrorism, and those responsible should be held accountable.
Khawaja Sira activists emphasized that people are taking their lives due to the burden of electricity bills, and this trend will continue to rise if those involved in this economic terrorism are not apprehended.
Private school associations also protested outside the press club against the high electricity bills.
Students expressed concerns about the difficulty in continuing their education due to skyrocketing utility bills.
They demanded that the government take immediate action to address the issue.
Protesters warned that if the government does not take the symbolic protest seriously, they will expand their demonstrations.
In Wahari as well, Khawaja Sira individuals protested against high electricity bills and inflation.
Khawaja Sira leaders led a rally and demanded an end to inflation.
Khawaja Sira's divisional president stated that the government has failed to control inflation and called on the government to demonstrate how they plan to eradicate inflation.
They pointed out that due to inflation, functions have come to a halt, and the availability of two meals a day has become difficult for many.
