Nationwide anti-polio campaign kicks off today
The campaign aims to vaccinate 40 million children this year.
Islamabad: A comprehensive anti-polio campaign has commenced today, with the aim of vaccinating over forty million children while providing them with a supplementary dose of vitamin A.
The campaign, which commences on October 2, 2023, marks a concerted effort to eliminate polio from Pakistan.
Caretaker Health Minister, Dr. Nadeem Jan, emphasized the importance of parents' cooperation in facilitating the success of this crucial initiative.
He urged all parents to ensure their children receive the polio drops provided by the dedicated polio teams.
Dr. Jan emphasized that the responsibility of eradicating polio lies with every citizen of Pakistan.
In order to attain global certification, it is imperative that no new polio cases surface for three consecutive years.
Furthermore, the Health Minister called upon the educated members of society to play their part in raising awareness about the debilitating effects of polio and the necessity of vaccination.
