Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has reacted to the federal government's decision to put its President, Shehbaz Sharif, on the Exit Control List.

"Even on a holiday Imran Khan is thinking about Shehbaz Sharif. He did not spend the day thinking about the poor people of this country," said PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb in a statement.
On Thursday, the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, a national holiday, the government put Shehbaz Sharif on the ECL.
"We can only pray for Imran Khan. On a holiday he opened the office for this. Friendly countries are offering charity instead of investment, this isn't Shehbaz Sharif's fault," she said, adding that had the Prime Minister offered his resignation, the people would have had a "sweet," Eid. "He did not pass orders to bring down the price of wheat, sugar or lentils on Eid day. We wish he had put wheat, sugar, gas, drug mafia on ECL.
On a more serious note, Maryam Aurangzeb said that Shehbaz Sharif was given permission by the court to leave the country. "This falls under contempt of court. Not only is this disobedience of court orders but this tantamounts to an attack on the court," she concluded.
The leader of the opposition in the national assembly was stopped by FIA officials last week as he attempted to fly out after being given permission by the Lahore High Court to do so.
