Lahore: A local court in Lahore extended the two-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Saturday.
The reserved verdict was made public by Judicial Magistrate Imran Abid.
Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Wednesday placed under the custody of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
The Lahore ACE filed a petition for a temporary remand for Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab, the President of Pakistan, with an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad.
Furthermore, a one-day temporary remand was granted by ATC Judge Abul Hasnaat Zulqarnain, allowing Parvez Elahi to be placed under the care of Lahore ACE. After that, Parvez Elahi was shifted to Lahore by ACE staff from Adiala Jail.
Prior to this, Parvez Elahi was not brought before the court for the temporary remand proceedings.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the proceedings till next week on PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi's intra-court appeal against nullifying the decision to discharge him in an anti-corruption case.
