Islamabad: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced to start of additional production from the Kunar Pisakhi Deep (KPD) Field in Hyderabad to strengthen Pakistan's energy landscape.
As part of its production optimization drive, OGDCL has implemented operational modifications and in-house compression arrangements, according to a release from OGDCL. As a result, gas will be re-introduced into the system from six low pressure wells in the KPD field.
According to the statement, the said initiative has resulted in an impressive increase of 16 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, 150 barrels per day of crude oil and 18 metric tons per day of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).
According to the spokesman, from December 11, 2023, the additional gas received in the system has been added to the network of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited without any interruption.
Located about 25 km from Hyderabad district in Sindh province, the KPD field is an important asset in OGDCL's portfolio. The field is currently producing 1600 barrels per day of crude oil, 107 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and 195 metric tons per day of LPG.
