Lahore: Senior politician Humayun Akhtar Khan officially joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Saturday, making the announcement during a press conference where he was accompanied by IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen and IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan.

Highlighting the events of May 9, he revealed his decision to part ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the vandalism that occurred on that day, emphasizing the significance of unity. “Jahangir Tareen Khan is a towering figure, and Abdul Aleem Khan is like a younger brother to me,” added Humayun Akhtar Khan.

Expressing concern over the country's poverty and unemployment, Humayun Akhtar Khan, Jahangir Khan Tareen, and Abdul Aleem Khan collectively welcomed the joining of IPP. Jahangir Khan Tareen expressed his delight, stating, “It is a matter of great joy that Humayun Akhtar Khan is now a part of IPP and has been designated as the IPP senior vice president.”

Abdul Aleem Khan acknowledged Humayun Akhtar's significant role in the political landscape, citing his past positions as a federal minister and Member of the National Assembly (MNA). Aleem Khan expressed hope that Humayun Akhtar Khan's inclusion would contribute significantly to the strengthening of IPP and the nation as a whole.
