US to continue to support free, fair elections in Pakistan
United States will continue to support free and fair elections in Pakistan, and bilateral talks continue in this regard.
Washington DC: The US said that it is looking forward to support Pakistan on regional security and defense cooperation, and will continue to support free and fair elections in Pakistan.
According to the details, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated in a press briefing that, ‘We do not take any position on Pakistani political parties and talk with all political leaders who are elected by the Pakistani people’.
According to the spokesperson of the US Department of State, Pakistan is a major non-NATO ally and NATO partner of the US, looking forward to cooperation with Pakistan on regional security and defense cooperation.
He added that United States will continue to support free and fair elections in Pakistan, and bilateral talks continue in this regard.
Apart from this, Mathew Miller stated that Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir was in Washington to meet other officials including the Department of State, Pentagon.
