Haroonabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo and former three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday accused the ruling PTI of launching an attack on Pakistan when it realized that it was losing the power.

Nawaz Sharif highlighted the significance of Haroonabad, where he stated, “I arrived in Haroonabad back in 1992, witnessing the fervor and zeal among the people of Haroonabad, our colleagues are contesting elections from here, and it's imperative for us to ensure their success,”.

Nawaz Sharif also surprised over what he said overwhelming turnout at the venue of the gathering.

“I wasn't aware that this rally would break all previous attendance records in Haroonabad. This rally symbolizes the prosperity of Pakistan. During my tenure, essential commodities such as bread, flour, gas, and electricity were affordable. However, upon hearing the slogans here, my determination surged,” said the PML-N supremo.

He also attempted to elaborate economic discrepancies,  saying that “In my era, sugar was priced at 35 rupees per kilo, but now it has escalated to 150 rupees per kilo. Similarly, the cost of a tractor, which was 800,000 rupees during my tenure, also soared to 3.8 million rupees,”.

He said that urea was priced at 1,300 rupees per sack in his time and now it was 5,000 rupees. Moreover, the exchange rate, he said, drastically increased from 104 rupees to 280 rupees per dollar.

Talking about the national security, Nawaz Sharif was of the view that the PTI, upon losing the power, launched an assault on Pakistan. This orchestrated conspiracy not only jeopardized national security but also undermined the country's stability.

“Contrary to their actions, I have always prioritized the national interest and security of Pakistan,” he claimed.

He also lamented he was ousted from the prime minister's office not once, but thrice. Despite the challenges, he refrained from divulging any national secrets.

“Instead, I became a victim of undue scrutiny and unjust treatment,” said Nawaz Sharif.

He also said, “Had my government continued, unemployment would not have plagued the attendees of this rally today. Economic prosperity, coupled with employment opportunities and trade, would have been the hallmark of my tenure, ensuring the happiness and well-being of the people,”.
