The weekly inflation rate in the country has decreased by 0.78 percent in recent weeks.


Islamabad: The trend of decreasing inflation rate continues in the country during February and a slight decrease in inflation rate was also observed during last week.
According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, the weekly inflation rate in the country has decreased by 0.78 percent in recent weeks, while the annual inflation rate has also declined to 34.25 percent.
According to the data, despite the decrease in the rate, the prices of 22 items increased during the week, while the prices of 11 items decreased and the prices of 18 essential items remained same.
During the recent week, many commodities including potatoes, meat and pulses have become expensive, in which the prices of potatoes have increased by 2.80%, the prices of matchbox by 1.31%, energy saver by 0.62%, black grams by 0.35%, greem grams by 0.56% and mutton by 0.48 percent increased.
On the contrary, the prices of eggs increased by 28.82%, tomatoes by 0.29%, onions by 3.48%, chicken prices by 4.23%, flour by 0.32%, LPG by 2.85%, lentils by 0.28%. while the price of mustard oil reduced by 0.18%.
