The increase in electricity prices has been sought in the context of the January fuel cost adjustment.

Lahore: The government is all geared up to drop another electric bomb on the people of Pakistan who are already crushed by inflation.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted an application to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for an increase of Rs 7.13 per unit price of electricity.
The increase in electricity prices has been sought in the context of the January fuel cost adjustment, for which NEPRA will hear the request on February 23.
It is pertinent to note that in January, the most expensive electricity of 100 million units was generated by diesel at the rate of Rs45.60 per unit.
While 750 million units of electricity at the rate of Rs35 per unit were generated using furnace oil in January.
