American spokesperson Matthew Miller was giving a press briefing in which he talked about the recent shutdown of X.

Islamabad: American foreign officer (FO) Matthew Miller demanded Pakistan to restore all the social media platforms including X and respect the freedom of expression by its citizens.
According to the details, American spokesperson Matthew Miller was giving a press briefing in which he talked about the recent shutdown of X.
Matthew declined to give a comment on the formation of the new government in Pakistan and stated that forming up a new government is any country’s inner decision.
He raised concerns about those reports which restricted the freedom of expression and grouping towards a specific party in which temporary or permanent shutdown of X also included.
FO said that America always gives importance to the basic rights of freedom of expression. He further said that America desired to see the full investigation of any claim regarding the rigging in general elections’ results.
‘We will always be demanding from Pakistani officials to give respect of the freedom of expression and not to shutdown any social media application.’ US spokesperson added.
