Islamabad: The representative of International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Pakistan Esther Perez said in response to Imran Khan's letter that IMF does not comment on local and political issues.

In a statement, IMF representative Esther Perez stated that the IMF received a letter from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on February 28 which is related to Pakistan's loan program.

Esther Peres added that IMF is an international organization whose mandate is limited to economic issues, therefore, it does not comment on local and political issues.

The IMF representative continued to say that our engagement with Pakistan is aimed at financial stability. Our aim is sustainable and inclusive growth for the benefit of the citizens. It is also to support the implementation of strong policies.

It is pertinent to note that PTI founder Imran Khan had written a letter to the IMF in the past few days which he himself confirmed.

In the letter, Imran Khan requested to take Pakistan's political stability into account at the time of the upcoming bailout package.

While, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif termed Imran Khan's letter to the IMF as another act of anti-nationalism after cypher.
