SNGPL has sought a further 147% hike in gas prices from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).


Islamabad: After Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Sui Northern Gas Private Limited (SNGPL) also requested to increase the price of gas.
According to the details, SNGPL has sought a further 147% hike in gas prices from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Sui Northern has requested to implement the hike in gas price by July 1. It has requested an increase in gas price of Rs2646.18 per Metric Million British Thermal Unit (MMBtu), saying that the new average gas price be fixed at Rs4446.89.
SNGPL has estimated a revenue shortfall of Rs189.18 billion.
OGRA will hear the petition of Sui Northern on March 25 in Lahore, while the appeal will also be heard on March 27 in Peshawar.
It is pertinent to note that SSGC has also submitted a request for further increase of Rs274.40 per MMBtu in gas price to OGRA. After Sui Southern, Northern also demanded a further increase in gas price up to 147%
