Mr Awan being a seasoned politician now wishes to hold the Senate chairmanship. Earlier he had also kept many important portfolios.
Giving an insider, senior analyst said that Dr Awan's nomination is being criticised in inner circles of PTI and most of the members are of the view that the Senate chairmanship should be given to an old party member. Earlier the name of party's Central Vice President Umar Cheema also appeared but his lobbying is not strong indoor.
