Lahore: Lahore Police on Wednesday arrested a young man who appeared in court in a burqa to seek interim pre-arrest bail in a kidnapping case.
According to details, police arrested a burqa-clad boy in an operation in a Lahore court.
The accused said that he used the burqa to avoid arrest and opponents and seek interim bail in the case.
According to a Lahore police spokesman, a young man named Faraz had got married in Misri Shah, and the girl's parents had registered a kidnapping case against the accused.
Faraz Bhatti came to the court wearing a burqa to get his interim bail and when the police stopped him on suspicion, the boy appeared out in a burqa.
Accused Faraz said he used the burqa to avoid police arrest and the girl's heirs.
According to the spokesperson, the police have arrested Faraz and initiated action against him, and commending Inspector Mubashir Awan—the in charge of security, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar announced a certificate of appreciation for Inspector.
