Islamabad: Raja Rizwan Abbasi, the complainant's lawyer, did not appear in the court in the hearing of appeals for suspension of sentence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and wife Bushra Bibi in the Iddat Nikah case.

Lawyer Usman Gul said that Raja Rizwan Abbasi did not come today and will not come even for a week.

District and Sessions Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand is hearing the appeals against the sentence of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Iddat Nikah case.

Counsel for the complainant, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, did not appear in court.

Assistant of Rizwan Abbasi told the court that the senior counsel is in bad health and cannot appear today, the hearing should be postponed due to the unavailability of the senior counsel.

Senior counsel Salman Akram Raja and Usman Gul are on the way, the lawyer said.

After which the hearing was adjourned till the arrival of the lawyers of founder PTI and Bushra Bibi.

After the break, Usman Gul came to the court and stated that if the prosecution comes, I will plead for suspension of the sentence. In the cypher case, the public prosecutor was appointed and sentenced. Raja Rizwan Abbasi did not come today and will not come for a week.

Appellant lawyer Usman Gul's arguments

Usman Gul, Advocate, referring to various court decisions, said: “The hearings in these cases are held till late at night, the trial court held the hearing in hurry, the statements were not complete, the process of the statements of the accused was not completed. Courts gave decisions regarding hearings during court hours”.

Judge Shahrukh Arjumand inquired whether there is any decision regarding the late hearings.

Lawyer Usman Gul said that no, there is no such decision of any court, the trial court held hearings in the morning, evening and late at night.
