Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari made a significant announcement on Monday regarding the introduction of Pakistan’s first air ambulance plane, highlighting its unique capability to land in compact spaces without the need for a traditional runway.

During a press conference at the Directorate General Public Relations in Lahore, Azma Bokhari emphasized that this essential service would be provided to the public free of charge. She outlined plans to deploy three air ambulances and two helicopters for rescue operations, with ongoing training programs in progress to ensure efficient operations.

Azma Bokhari reiterated the government's commitment to swiftly addressing any barriers to public relief efforts. She also addressed the historical inaction surrounding air ambulance initiatives by previous governments, noting that significant progress had been made within just a month and a half of Maryam Nawaz assuming the Chief Minister role.

In addition to discussing the air ambulance initiative, Azma Bokhari touched upon the reduction in the prices of naan and roti. She credited Shehbaz Sharif for initially championing the initiative for affordable roti and highlighted further reductions announced under Maryam Nawaz's leadership. The aim is to ensure that consumers benefit from these staple food items without financial burden.

Azma Bokhari revealed a reduction of Rs500 in the price of a 20 kg bag of flour, with assurances of additional decreases in the days ahead. She cautioned against interference by mafias that could hinder relief efforts for the people and appealed to the Nanbai Association for cooperation. The government seeks an equitable solution and will not tolerate any impediments to public relief efforts.

Furthermore, Azma Bokhari specified that the price of 100 grams of roti has been set at Rs16, with naan available for Rs20, ensuring affordability for consumers.
