Roti price in Karachi remains same despite Commissioner’s orders
Tandoor owners say that they will sell low-priced roti only if they will get flour at the low price
Karachi: Tandoor owners in Karachi blew the orders of Commissioner Karachi and did not make roti low-priced.
The notification of the Commissioner Karachi to sell roti at the rate of Rs12 and naan at Rs17 could not be implemented in the city.
Tandoor owners say that they will sell low-priced roti only if they will get flour at the low price, adding that Commissioner Karachi has issued a decision without consultation.
On the other hand, Karachi Grocers Association added that flour mills are delivering flour to the shop at Rs100 per kg, the fare for bringing a sack of flour from Jodia Bazaar to Tariq Road is Rs100, there are also bags and other expenses, while 2.5 number flour in the market is Rs120 per kg and fine flour is Rs140 per kg.
