Electricity tariff hiked by Rs3.25 per unit
The increase in electricity prices will burden the consumers by 46 billion rupees
Islamabad: The federal government Saturday increased the prices of electricity by dropping another power bomb on the public due to inflation.
According to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the price of electricity has been increased by Rs3.25 per unit.
It is also reported that NEPRA sent the decision to increase electricity prices to the federal government.
Notably, the increase in electricity prices will burden the consumers by 46 billion rupees.
It is important to mention that NEPRA had reserved its decision on May 30 on the request to increase the price of electricity by Rs3.49 per unit which was made by Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) in the April fuel adjustment.
