Ayesha Tauseef says they took the initiative to sensitize the school children about protection of the environment

Lahore: The Pak Mission Society organized an educational visit to Metro E-Vehicles for students and teachers from various schools in a bid to spread awareness about protection of the environment.
“The initiative aimed at spreading awareness about importance of protecting the environment among the younger generation,” said Child Driven Climate Action Project Officer Ayesha Tauseef on Wednesday.
She said that the children, during the visit, were provided with detailed information about E-vehicles and their benefits for the environment.
The initiative was part of the Child Driven Climate Action Project, which the Pak Mission Society has been implementing since 2023 in three districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Miss Ayesha Tauseef from the Pak Mission Society explained that the project involved 25 selected schools, both government and private, each forming a Green Club.
“These clubs consist of 15 children and three teachers each, with ten schools from Lahore and fifteen from Rawalpindi and Islamabad participating.
Under this project, the Pak Mission Society has been engaging students in various eco-friendly activities including kitchen gardening and tree planting.
Besides it, she said three types of segregated bins have been installed in schools to promote waste management practices.
“These activities aim to create environmental awareness and sensitize children on maintaining an eco-friendly environment. The project’s fundamental goal is to amplify the voices of children and encourage their active participation in environmental conservation,” she added.
