T20 WC: India win by six runs against Pakistan

New York: India defeated Pakistan by six runs in International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup.

The match played in New York was delayed due to rain. National team captain Babar Azam won the toss and invited Indian captain Rohit Sharma to bat first.

Against Pakistan, India's batting line-up faltered badly, and the team collapsed for 119 runs in 19 overs. However, in response to the target of 120 runs, the national team could score 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

India's innings

After the first over was completed at eight runs without any loss, the match was stopped when the rain started again and the players walked out of the field. Later, when the match started, Virat Kohli scored four runs and was caught out by the ball of Naseem Shah. India's first wicket against Pakistan fell for 12 runs.

India's second wicket fell for 19 runs when Shaheen Afridi caught out Indian captain Rohit Sharma. India's third wicket against Pakistan fell for 58 runs when Kareen Patel scored 20 runs and was clean-bowled by Naseem Shah.

India's fourth wicket against Pakistan fell for 89 runs. Surya Kumar Yadav was caught out by Haris Rauf after scoring seven runs.

The fifth wicket of India fell to 95 runs when Shivam Dubey scored three runs to become Naseem Shah's third victim.

India's sixth and seventh wickets against Pakistan fell for 96 runs when two Indian batsmen got out on two consecutive balls from Mohammad Amir. Rishabh Pant 42 and Ravindra Jadeja were caught out by Mohammad Amir at zero.

India's eighth wicket against Pakistan fell on 112 runs when Hardik Pandya scored seven runs and fell victim to Haris Rauf. India's ninth wicket also fell on 112 runs, Jasprit Bumrah was the victim of Haris Rauf at zero.

India's last player to get out was Arsdeep Singh who was run out for nine runs.

It is pertinent to note should be noted that for the first time in T20 Internationals, the Indian team was all out against Pakistan. Apart from this, India also has the lowest score against Pakistan in 119 all-out T20 Internationals.

On behalf of Pakistan, Naseem Shah took three wickets for 21 runs in four overs.

Shaheen Afridi took one wicket for 29 runs in four overs. Haris Rauf took three wickets for 21 runs in three overs.

Mohammad Amir dismissed two players for 23 runs in four overs. Imad Wasim conceded 17 runs without a wicket in three overs. Iftikhar Ahmed bowled an over and gave away seven runs.

Pakistan's innings

Pakistan's first wicket against India fell for 26 runs when captain Babar Azam was caught out after scoring 13 runs. Pakistan's second wicket fell for 57 runs, Usman Khan got out after scoring 13 runs.

Pakistan's third wicket fell for 73 runs, Fakhar Zaman was caught out after scoring 13 runs. Pakistan's fourth wicket fell for 80 runs when set batsman Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 31 runs. The fifth player to be dismissed by Pakistan was Shadab Khan who was dismissed for four runs on a total score of 88.

Pakistan's sixth wicket against India fell for 102 runs, Iftikhar Ahmed was caught out after scoring five runs. Pakistan's seventh player to get out was Imad Wasim who was dismissed for 15 runs. Naseem Shah remained not out with 10 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets for India and won the man of the match award.

Apart from him, Hardik Pandya dismissed two players, Arsdeep Singh and Kareen Patel took one wicket each.

Earlier, after the toss, the captain of the national team, Babar Azam, said that they will try to perform well in the match, the past is the past, the focus is on today's match, there is a lot of motivation for the match against India.

A change was made in the national team and Azam Khan was replaced by Imad Wasim.

Pakistan cricket team was led by Babar Azam, including other players Muhammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmad, Imad Wasim, Muhammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma said that he will try to score well so that the bowlers can defend. He has played two or three matches here.

Indian team was captained by Rohit Sharma. Other players included in the Indian team were Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Surya Kumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Kachar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Ashdeep Singh.
